Therefore, dear brothers and sisters, you have no obligation to do what your sinful nature urges you to do.

13 For if you live by its dictates, you will die. But if through the power of the Spirit you put to death the deeds of your sinful nature, you will live.

14 For all who are led by the Spirit of God are children of God.

Jesus, today I offer You who I am and what I have.  Come and multiply it all for Your glory, and for the sake of others.

Reflecting on a time that Jesus and his disciples hosted a hungry crowd in Matthew 15:32- 36.

Can you imagine the scene?  Sun and dust and the rumble of the teeming multitudes.  Jesus’ unreasonable demand to feed the people. And his provocative and seemingly ridiculous question to his followers. ’How many loaves do you have?’

Has Jesus ever invited me into a situation that seemed far beyond my capacity?  Asked me to do the impossible?

How many loaves do I have? What do I have to offer those whom Jesus has asked me to care for?

Jesus, today I offer You who I am and what I have.  Come and multiply it all for Your glory, and for the sake of others.

A testimony for April

You may be wondering why I decided to be baptised recently? Here is my story, I was born into a home where my parents faith is New Apostolic and I attended Sunday school along with my sister. We were baptised and sealed as infants. I did my schooling at a Catholic School and attended mass every Friday.

Growing up, I tried my best to remain close to God. I had my first taste of the Anglican Church when I moved to New Zealand. This Anglican Church felt very similar to the Catholic Church. To me, I was back home.

God put a desire in my heart a few weeks ago to be baptised in this specific church. I spoke to Peni and he willing agreed. He sent me loads of reading material to prepare for today. I am very excited to have made the decision to be baptised at St Matthias.

A testimony for March

I am in touch with four men who are currently in jail, I have found it a very enjoyable experience to get to know each of them. What is remarkable is the complete lack of arrogance in each of them, very quickly, the fact that they are serving a jail sentence has become irrelevant to our relationship. Last year there was an Australian documentary on TV about three households who allowed a released prisoner to live with them immediately after they left jail. Each of these families or individuals benefitted in helping these people and in all cases the person leaving jail hugely appreciated their family and the trust and love shown them.
