John Clark – Vicar’s Supporter (Warden)
My name is John Clark and I am privileged to serve as the Vicar’s Supporter, here at St Matthias. I am married to Mary and we have four grown children and we are grandparents.
For many years, we have been in practice at Tamaki Family Health Centre and we were drawn to St Matthias through our engagement with the community through healthcare and our love for serving God.
At the beginning of 2019, I was asked if I would serve as Paul’s Vicar’s Supporter. I am enjoying serving in this capacity, spending time in prayer with Paul for the community here at St Matthias and the wider community of Panmure and being a listening ear for the congregation.
Ian Yong – Curate
I will be joining St Matthias in 2020 as Curate with my family, Daisy, Gabby and Isaac. My family and I were originally placed here whilst I was a student at St John’s Theological College and we are looking forward to continuing our time here over the next two years.
I moved to New Zealand as a student from Malaysia and during my time studying, I became a Christian joining the Auckland Christian Mandarin Campus Church and in 2011, I joined the Anglican Church of Aotearoa and Polynesian and this is where I felt the call to ministry.
As a family, we look forward to strengthening the connections that we have already made during our time here at St Matthias and I am looking forward to reaching out into the community of Panmure, to see Christ Realised.
Wesley Fifita – People’s Supporter (Warden)
My family and I were led by the grace of God, to become part of the family here at St Matthias in 2007. We feel truly blessed to be able to worship with each and every family in our church.
Since 2018, I have been serving as the People’s Supporter or Warden as it is also known here at St Matthias. I enjoy serving in this capacity and always have a friendly, listening ear available for our people. As part of this role, I form the link between the people of the church and the leadership team.
Alex Rose-Stewart – Church Manager
My husband and I, along with our two daughters, felt God’s leading to join the church family here at St Matthias in 2016 and at the beginning of 2017, I joined the team here in the role of Church Manager.
As the Church Manager, I am a jack of all trades and usually am the person most people seek out when they need an answer. You will probably speak to me on the phone, if you call or get a response from me on the office email.
St Matthias is a place of welcome, acceptance, an example of God’s love and it’s a place I call home.
